I’ve been neglecting letting you guys know about my iPod sock. I finished it….about a week ago. I know, I know, that’s horrible of me not to let you guys know that it was finished yet, but in my defense, I’ve been busy. Too busy to take good pictures of it, and I wanted to make sure I showcased this just right. Well, here it is…
What do you guys think? I think it’s awesome. I gave it a nice sized pocket in front for my headphones. As you can see, I use the big headphones, not the little pods. I can’t use those in ear headphones because my ears are too small and they not only hurt me but they also fall out every minute or so. I use these for that reason. They’re big, but not too big, and the sound quality is outstanding! But I’m digressing here. As I mentioned, I used the pattern found on Chocolates & Vodka and I tweaked it a bit. I didn’t want to deal with seaming the pocket once I was done, so what I did was that I knit the pocket first, and then as I was knitting the actual sock, when I would reach the end of the row, I would knit the pocket into the sock using a SSK stitch and a K2Tog stitch, then when the sock was as long as the pocket, I knit both the live pocket stitch and the live sock stitch together. This was a nice, seam-free knit for my little iPod, and he’s happy with it.
I also started the second Pomotomus sock two days ago. I don’t have much to talk about with this one because I’m into the 5th row of the pattern. This is what it looks like so far:
It’s coming along. I also got inspired and decided to cast-on the pair of socks that are for a gift using the Lorna’s Laces Denim. I wanted to try to knit the two socks on circs, but this is what it looks like right now:
I don’t know if you can tell in this picture but one of the socks is super twisted with the needles and I don’t know what the heck I’m doing wrong. I need to do some more reading and maybe work a couple of rounds with the instructions in front of me. I know that once I do that, I’ll get the hang of it and the rest of the sock will just fly by.
I checked the Rockin’ Sock Club blog today to see what’s going on, and the packages are being shipped! I’m so excited I can hardly stand it! I know, that’s pretty crazy considering I have a pair of socks cast on, and a single sock that I’m actively knitting right now, but heck, it’s the Rockin’ Sock Club!
Well, I gotta get back to my other project. Here’s what I’m working on:
This is for my design class. I have my mid-term critique next Tuesday, and this is just one of the models that I have to have completely finished by then. This one is finished, for the most part. There’s just some finishing touches that I need to add, and that’s it. I started only pieces of the section model, that’s at a bigger scale, for this model and is supposed to be a super duper detailed model, so I better stop blogging and start modeling.
