This is what my sky looked like this morning. I know this isn’t exactly knitting content, but I have to tell you, it’s a really neat looking sky. There is a haze from all the fires going on all over the state, and the sun just looked like this big, orange spotlight.
Well, on to knitting content! I’m still working on Frost Flowers & Leaves shawl. I’ve just started the second repetition of the second chart, and so far so good. I’m loving the way it’s knitting up, I’m loving how it feels, and I have to tell you, I’m not getting bored with this one. I’ve come to the conclusion that I really love lace knitting because it’s not thoughtless knitting. You actually have to concentrate on what you’re doing!
IT’S HERE, IT’S HERE, IT’S HERE, IT’S HERE, IT’S HERE, IT’S HERE! I’m so excited, as you could probably tell. I’ve been back and forth with Blue Moon over this, because the original package they sent never arrived and now, it’s here! The yarn is awesome, the pattern is super cute, the whole thing is the bestest in the whole world, but I can’t start it. I have to be good. I have to finish all my UFO’s.
I finally have a reason to wear my Frost Flowers and Leaves shawl, if I finish it on time. There’s a wedding that I need to attend at the end of June, so I get to go shopping for a new dress for my hopefully 20 pounds thinner body (I’m at 12 pounds thinner now!) the week before the wedding AND possibly get to use the new shawl as well! My fingers need to fly so that I could make my deadline as I’m just finishing up the first of 6 rounds of chart two.
FINALLY, here is the picture of the shawl. This is what it looks like. I’m currently two rows into chart 2. It’s a bit hard to photograph it when I can’t really stretch it out, so this is the best I could do. Once I have more done, I’m sure I can double up on it and photograph it that way, but right now it’s too tiny. If you guys have any photo suggestions, please tell me, because right now I really don’t know how to photograph this thing.

UFO and Yarn.
I just finished chart 1 of the pattern and have moved on to chart 2. I am absolutely loving the pattern of this and how it’s knitting up. Not to mention I have been obsessively knitting this since I started two weeks ago. It’s fun to knit, it makes me think, and it’s addicting! I don’t want to put it down. I want to knit it all the time! I have even been staying up late to knit knowing that I have to wake up early for work. This project has taken over my every waking thought, with the exception of the STR package that I still have not received.
I did contact Blue Moon to find out what’s going on, but it’s been shipped and it should’ve arrived by now, but no such luck. No beautiful yarn to caress. I sent them another e-mail today advising them as to the fact that I still have not received my package and I’m awaiting their response. I’d be happy if I could at least get a tracking number so I can see where it went to and go beat up the person who has my yarn.
Tonight will be picture night, I swear! I really want to document the progress of the shawl, so I will take some pretty, pretty pictures of where I’m at when I get home from this miserable hell known as work and I’ll post them up tonight.
