I have officially finished Harry Potter, and I’m so depressed! I can’t believe there will be no more Harry Potter books! I have nothing to look forward to, literary speaking. I did go watch the Order of the Phoenix with a friend Saturday night and it was AWESOME! There’s nothing like watching Gary Oldman with his long hair and goate about 10 feet tall on the movie screen! The movie was good to though!
Anyway, back to the knitting home front. I have been a knitting fiend lately, mostly with smaller projects as I’ve put down both shawls for socks. I finally finished the Techguy Socks for my tech guy. I couldn’t get him to sit for his photo shoot yesterday, so this is the only picture I have for now.
Mind you, when I snapped this picture he was living up to the name of the socks: he was on the computer being techy, and that was more important then his photo shoot. I’ll grab a better picture later.
I also knit Babby Bobby Bear. I’m not too happy with how it came out. I officially stink when it comes to adding on appendages, and the whole neck thing just didn’t work for me. I stuffed him and I couldn’t make him look not so lumpy either. I’m just not very happy with how he came out. I also think that he should have been knit either with tighter stitches, doubling up on the yarn, or with thicker yarn, because I don’t like how the stuffing shows through the yarn.
If anyone has any pointers on fixing poor Bobby Bear, I would LOVE them, because I really want my little man to have a cute teddy to cuddle with.
Since I got the Mason Dixon book, I also had to knit the Ballband Dishcloth. This was so easy to knit, and it was fun! I really want to do more work out of that book, like Absorba, and some of the afghan’s that are in there, but I think I need to finish up the two shawls before I start on another big project like that. While I was taking pictures of the dishcloth, I also grabbed a picture of the 4-corners dishcloth I recently knit as well.
And last but not least, I decided to finally get started on the Rockin Sock Club socks. I’m starting them in order as they arrived, so I’m knitting Inside Out now, and I’m loving the way it’s coming out. This is the first time I’ve knit toe-up socks, and it makes so much more sense to me! I think I’m going to do all my socks toe-up from now on! The worst part of knitting socks is getting to the heel. I never know how far up to knit on the leg, and I’m always really anxious to get to the foot, so now that I start with the foot and end with the leg, it just seems to make me so much more happier this way! I’m weird, I know.
While I was knitting this yesterday, I decided to take a look inside the sock, and I noticed that the way it’s stripping/pooling is giving it a really cool swirley effect inside the sock, so I had to grab a picture of that as well.
This is pretty much all I’ve been up to lately.
