Margarita’s and Sweater

So out of all the things I said I was going to do in the last post, I got three done. I worked some on the mystery fiber for the mystery project, and replied some of the previous fibers, and I took pictures of Margarita’s Seaside. I still haven’t set the twist on any of them, and in truth, I didn’t finish replying them all. I still have some stuff that I need to put back through the wheel, but with time. Anyways, as I mentioned last time, I navajo plied Margarita’s and I’m so proud of it because I think it came out just the way it was supposed to. It looks a lot better then my other yarn, in my opinion.

Can you see the twist? Can you see how it was plied? Can you see how pretty it came out? I know these pictures don’t really show off the color of the yarn all that well, but I tried. I even tried enhancing the pictures a bit. Anyways, opinions would be wonderful!

On the knitting homefront, I was working on the second sleeve of the sweater last night when I realized I don’t have enough black yarn to finish it, so I ordered some more today. I’m risking it a bit because I know I’m not going to get the same dye lot, but I don’t have much of a choice at this point. This project that started off one way, and is finishing in a completely different way has taken me two years to get to this point and I’m so close to finishing it I can almost see it. I have about another inch before I start working the raglan on the sleeve and I don’t think I even have enough to do that inch. So now I have to wait for the yarn to come in. So, that’s where I’m at with the sweater.

The solstice slip sock is coming along. I started knitting that since I can’t do anything about the sweater. I’m close to starting the gusset, and it’s smooth sailing from there. The frost flowers and leaves shawl is still in time out. I just can’t think about it. It’s been a bad, bad shawl, and I just don’t have the patience for it’s behavior. When I have some good amount of time, I’ll pick it back up, get rid of it’s naughtiness and keep on going.
