Wordless Wednesday: Sunbathing

28.365: Sunbathing, originally uploaded by Crafty Girly.

I would so much rather spend my day sunbathing on some limestone next to a lake as opposed to working, writing papers, and studying, like I’ve been doing all day today.

What would you turn this into?

I have 3 skeins of this fabulous yarn:

I’m thinking of turning it into a shawl or something to wrap myself in and keep me warm when it’s cold, especially at work where it’s alway frigid.  What pattern do you think would go well with this?  Also, I have “Knitting Lace Triangles” by Evelyn Clark, should I do my own come up with my own creation using this fabulous book?  What do you all think????

Granted, I know I haven’t been knitting much lately, I’ve been studying my behing off (again) but I do want to get myself into a routine of fitting knitting into studying so I don’t burn myself out, and I’ve had this awesome, awesome stuff laying around since May of last year, and I would really like to turn it into something, so that’s were I’m at.

Recent FO’s

This is just a quick note showing off my newly finished wrist warmers for my freezing cold office.  I’ve been able to use them at the office, and figured I would show them offa t work.  This was knit with my handspun.  It was fiber purchased from the Loopy Ewe, and is from Sakina Needles.  I love, love, LOVE this fiber.  It’s uber soft BFL, is nice and warm, and considering my handa and feet are my bodily thermostats, these wrist warmers are keeping the rest of me warm while in the office.  So check out my one-by-one pictures (took a stealth picture from work so I couldn’t take both hands at the same time) of these guys.  The stripping doesn’t match, but I wanted the randomness.

9/365: Ibis

I saw these guys while on my way to work and it made me smile just a little bit, so I snapped a pic so I can share.

Vacation is Over!

Vacation is officially over and I’m not very happy about that.  Reality has come and slapped me fully on the face this morning.  There was traffic; lots of it!  Traffic to get to campus, traffic on campus, traffic, everywhere, and mind you, I don’t live that far from campus.

There was a lot of finished items knit over the past 10 days.  I finished Abby, of which I have not blocked nor documented yet.  I finished my Wrist Warmers, that have perished under the same fate as Abby.  I knit two more Ballband dishclothes (pictured below.  Go to my Flickr page for more pictures)

I’m still in the process of plying the Voodoo Queen yarn, as well as the English Garden yarn, and I also started a Baby Kimono from the Mason Dixon book, which is missing on the right front of it and that’ll be done soon.  I feel really accomplished by all of this.

I also cleaned the house good, tore down the Christmas tree and indoor ornaments (outdoor stuff is the “other-half’s” responsibility), I did piles upon piles of laundry, got crazy drunk on New Years Eve (to which I still woke up puking on New Years Day, this is a story on it’s own), played a whole lotta guitar hero and the Sims, fought with the bookstore for my books for this semester, went for a 16 mile bike ride in the Everglades, and pretty much got everything I wanted to get accomplished done!

I swear I’m much more productive when I’m on vacation than off it!

So that was my holiday.  Let me know how yours was or send me a link to your blog post regarding your holidays.

Also, a quick note to you all, Wendy from Wendy Knits has put up a book giveaway!  Check it out!
